I qualified as a Supervisor in 2011, and worked as a clinical supervisor for three years with a charity called school-home-support. Since then I have set up my own Supervision practice alongside my counselling practice and have supervised trainee and qualified counsellors since 2014.
The model that I use is the seven eyed supervision model developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet. In supervision sessions we
Focus on the client
Focus on interventions
Focus on client therapist relationship
Focus on therapist's process
Focus on therapist - Supervisor relationship
Focus on Supervisor's process
Focus in wider context.
I believe that my supervision practice has been able to be successful due to creating and developing a caring, gentle nurturing and empowering environment within our sessions. I offer some discount to trainee counsellors, and am available mostly in the daytime for supervision, but have some limited evening availability.
Supervisees recently completed an evaluation questionnaire on my supervision service and I have ( with their permission) written some of their feedback below:-
"I feel safe and understood by Beccy, this helps me to be open and honest with her when I present my client work" - B - Qualified counsellor working in IAPT
" I feel I can share anything / everything with Beccy " - G - Student Counsellor
" I feel Beccy is able to challenge me in a way that is thoughtful and gentle. I always feel encouraged and inspired" - V - qualified counsellor in private practice.
My rates for supervision are £45 for student counsellors ( 1 hour) £67.50 for student counsellors ( 1.5 hours)
£50 for qualified counsellors ( 1 hour) £75.00 for qualified counsellors (1.5 hours)
Due to having worked in schools as a counsellor, and having worked for school home support for many years as a supervisor, I also offer supervision to practitioners and counsellors working in schools. The price for supervision through schools is £60 for 1 hour or £90 for 1.5 hours.
